Local organizations teamed up with Hudson Valley police departments to host the "Carnival for Canines" festival, raising funds for working dogs.
The event, held at Hudson's Mill in Garnerville this weekend, featured food, music, and K-9 appearances. Organizers collected items and held an auction to raise money.
Spike's K9 Fund, a nonprofit, organized the event to support the care and preservation of working canines.
"Our goal is $25,000," said Heather Nappi, coorganizer. "We're raising money for dogs nationwide, but two local dogs will benefit from today's event."
Proceeds will go toward acquiring life-saving equipment for over 90 working dogs.
