Cardinal Dolan visited Sing Sing prison in Ossining Monday to mark the start of Holy Week and Easter.

Dolan celebrated Mass with inmates and staff at the Our Lady of Hope Catholic Chapel at Sing Sing.

"I reminded them that this is the week when Jesus was a prisoner," said Dolan. "This was the week when Jesus was in jail. This is the week that Jesus was executed, so fellas don't you ever think that God doesn't know what you are going through."

The cardinal also celebrated the confirmation of seven inmates.

Dolan is expected to visit another correctional facility in the Hudson Valley over Christmas.
