The Hawthorne Fire Department shared photos of the scene Sunday.
Firefighters from both the Hawthorne and Thornwood departments worked to put it out as smoke billowed from the car.
Crews were on the scene for about an hour to extinguish the flames.
There's no word yet on any injuries.
