A Hudson Valley homeowner had a rude awakening today after a car crashed into her living room this morning.

Beverly Williams says a car smashed into the side of her house on Eckerson Road in Spring Valley around 11 a.m. "It sounded like an earthquake, the whole place was just shaking," she says.

News 12 spoke with the driver who says she simply lost control of her car. Her husband, who was in the passenger seat, suffered minor leg injuries and was taken to a hospital. 

Ramapo police say they are investigating the accident.

The building inspector says the structure is sound, but they shut off the gas and electric as a precautionary measure.

Williams says she is now trying to figure out her next steps to begin to repair her home.
