A car smashed into School 9 in Yonkers this morning, necessitating students to be relocated to a different building.
The incident occurred on the side of the building on Waring Place.
According to city police, a neighbor accidentally drove into the school's kitchen wall from her driveway. No one was inside the kitchen at the time of the crash.
The female driver received treatment for minor injuries.
As a result, School 9 students were redirected to Roosevelt High School for classes.
Yonkers school officials issued the following statement about student pick-up:
-Students who take the bus to school will be picked up from Roosevelt and taken to their routine bus stops
-Students who are usually dismissed from the school and either walk home or are picked up by a guardian will be transported by YPS from Roosevelt back to PS 9 for dismissal at their usual time. Parents and guardians should respond to PS 9 to pick up their children as they normally would.
