A car slammed into the Acura dealership at Plaza Auto Mall on Nostrand Avenue.
Witnesses said the driver backed up into a roll-down gate and ripped through a part of the front wall.
"Customer was trying to make a right turn, so he backed up to angle out. He said he switched gears…and boom,” said Lauren Giordano, who works at the dealership.
Employees say customers were sitting in the waiting area, right behind that wall, around 9 a.m. when the car came crashing through.
“[The customer] was sitting right there on that corner where it went in,” said service advisor Kenny Lee. “He was shocked, and the wall kind of collapsed on top of him.”
Officials say two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
About an hour after the crash, the car was pulled out and towed away, leaving a gaping hole in the front of the building.
The Department of Buildings inspected the structure of the building and issued a partial vacate order for the waiting room that was damaged in the crash.
