A legal battle is brewing in the race for the 18th Congressional District seat.
Republican candidate Chele Farley says opponent Scott Smith is on too many lines.
In a lawsuit filed in State Supreme Court, Farley says Smith should not be on the Libertarian Party line. She says he canceled his enrollment in that party and joined the SAM Party, who endorsed him. Farley says Smith should only have one line.
Smith blames the error on the New York State Board of Elections and says Farley's argument is with them.
There has been no comment yet from the State Board of Elections.
