Students at Corpus Christi School in Port Chester returned to class today following a cafeteria fire that prompted an evacuation.
The fire, which broke out around 2 p.m. Wednesday, originated in the ceiling and was attributed to an electrical issue, according to village officials.
Firefighters responded swiftly to the scene on South Regent Street and were able to extinguish the blaze quickly. There were no reported injuries.
Classes resumed as usual today after the fire department deemed the school safe for occupancy.
