Images posted by the East Fishkill Fire District showed the fire burning on Stormville Mountain since late Monday evening.
News 12 is hearing unconfirmed reports that up to 12 acres were affected.
East Fishkill firefighters called in help from several departments, all working overnight to contain the fire.
The East Fishkill Fire District is reminding people that there is a statewide burn ban in effect, and dry conditions and wind can lead to catastrophic results.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
