Bronxville teen to be featured in documentary about brain trauma
A Bronxville teen went from high school athlete to philanthropist to documentary star.
Meredith Greenberg is going to be in a film called "The Invisible Machine," which is set to be released next year.
The documentary will shed light on how common brain trauma is and how often it is untested and misdiagnosed.
The 18-year-old founded the Athlete Concussion Foundation and is now educating young athletes about concussions and the importance of screening.
Greenburgh was a varsity lacrosse goalie for Hackley and initially suffered three concussions. Two of them were on the lacrosse field before she had to stop playing contact sports. She still ended up with three more.
"If I had, had better education about concussions and how I could've prevented them as an athlete, that I might still be playing lacrosse today, and I felt this obligation to help other student-athletes," says Greenberg.
