Thousands of Westchester homes and businesses were without power Monday evening as Bronxville residents wondered when floodwaters would recede.
A nasty nor'easter caused the Bronx River to overflow, pushing a stream of water onto nearby streets like Paxton Avenue in Bronxville. Cars were still submerged there Monday. The water even flooded the courtyard of a Bronxville school.
Residents say it's unlike anything they've ever seen and they worry about the massive cleanup at hand.
According to Con Edison, it cut power to 3,000 buildings as a precaution when the water began to rise Sunday. The utility company is working to restore power to another 1,000 customers.
