Bronx students at failing schools may soon have a way out under a new program of the No Child Left Behind Act.

Under the No Child Left Behind Public School Choice Program, parents of eligible students can request to transfer their child to a school that hasn?t been identified as ?title one? or ?in need of improvement.? The new program affects approximately 185,000 students at more than 250 city schools.

Parents have until June 30 to mail in their transfer requests. Meanwhile, parent coordinators and parent support officers will be available to answer questions and help in the application process.
