Many Muslims in the Bronx gathered to pray for fellow Muslims in Gaza as Israeli warplanes continued to attack the region Friday.
Sheikh Moussa Drammeh, of the Islamic Culture Center of North America, says more than 300 congregants in the Bronx prayed to promote a message of peace and justice. Many Muslims in his congregation are of Palestinian origin.
According to Sheikh Moussa Drammeh, the Islamic Culture Center in the Bronx hosts a program that teaches young Arabs to form healthy, positive relationships with Jewish youth in the area from the start.
"We have a program where our children go out there and meet with Jewish kids to create a dialogue, a friendship rather than following their grandfathers and great-grandfathers who kill each other needlessly," he says.
