Rain, storm chances Wednesday in Brooklyn; beware of dangerous surf

There are chances for rain on Wednesday and NYC public beaches will be closed due to dangerous rip currents.

Tropics update: Erin is currently a Category 2 hurricane. It is on track to pass offshore but we will feel impacts in terms of wind and waves. Over the next few days, we could see some gusts in the range of 20-30 mph. Wave wise, ocean conditions will be dangerous. All city beaches are closed for Wednesday and Thursday ahead of life-threatening rip currents and breaking waves between 6-13 feet. There will be no lifeguards on duty and swimming will be prohibited.
OVERNIGHT: Lows in the mid-60s, comfy and cool but cloudy.
WEDNESDAY: Morning clouds, evening rain and storm chances. Highs in the 70s, lows in the 60s.
THURSDAY: Morning rain, evening clouds and breezy. Highs in the mid-60s, lows in the mid-60s.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny and breezy. Highs in the low 80s, lows in the high 60s.
THE WEEKEND: Sunny start and potentially rainy finish. Highs in the low 80s, lows in the high 60s and low 70s.
