Bridgeport parents demand reinstatement of football coach after losing position

The former head football coach at Harding High School lost his position as football coach - but not wrestling coach - on Jan. 6, and parents are demanding he be reinstated.
Dozens of people showed up to the Board of Education meeting on Monday to rally for Eddie Santiago.
Many parents showed up to the meeting wearing the school's colors of blue and gold to support Santiago.
Santiago has been the football coach for the last eight years.
Speakers got two minutes each to talk about what Coach Eddie Santiago meant to them.
School officials say he lost his position due to a personnel matter and have declined to comment further.
Bridgeport resident Jessica Martinez says Santiago was an incredible coach who treated his players like family.
Santiago was at the Board of Education meeting Monday evening. He says he's grateful and thankful to his community for their support.
