Family and friends of a Brewster teen are still reeling over his untimely death in a car crash.
According to the Putnam County sheriff, 16-year-old Christopher Caiazzo apparently lost control of his car on Farm-to-Market Road in Patterson Tuesday and slammed into a rock and tree stump. Police say speed and inexperience appear to be the main factors in the accident. The Brewster High School junior had just received the car as a Christmas present.
The school principal says Caiazzo?s death has shaken the whole school. Officials brought in counselors to meet with students to help them cope with the loss. The wake is being held at the Beecher Funeral Home in Brewster. Many students are expected to attend Caiazzo?s funeral on Saturday at Saint Lawrence O'Toole Church.
