More clouds are moving in through the evening with a warm front. A shower or two is possible between midnight and 5a.m. Fog will then form, especially at the coast, just before the morning commute. The fog could be dense in spots, especially for some of the bridges. Use extra caution for the Friday morning commute.
As the sun pokes out mid-morning Friday, temperatures will be off to the races. Temperatures in the 80s are likely away from the water, and the more direct sun there will be, the hotter the temperatures get. The sun will in turn help spark pop-up thunderstorms. Expect a stray storm or two between 2 p.m. and sunset late Friday. While the chance has gone down some, the main threat remains a gusty downpour that briefly reduces visibility and causes wet and slick road conditions. The larger and more serious storm chance will be Saturday.
A stray shower possible again Friday night and Saturday morning, with the chance for downpours and thunderstorms growing through the afternoon. Saturday will still be warm in the upper-70s and low-80s, but storms will be more widespread during the afternoon and evening hours, knocking down temperatures. There is a growing severe risk, with 60 mph winds and small hail being some of the threats.
Storms wind down shortly after sundown, but a few scattered showers will continue into Sunday morning. A shower or two with some mist and drizzle is still expected during the day Sunday, so move outdoor plans inside for the weekend. That is not the end of the rain.
Scattered showers and likely redevelop into steady rain with some embedded downpours during the day Monday with some heavier bursts of rain possible Monday night and Tuesday. The earliest the rain fully shuts off is Wednesday morning, but could be as late as Thursday morning. There is a chance the borough does not see any sun for five straight days.
