January thaws typically happen later in the month, often the 3rd or 4th week of January. This year, our thaw arrived early. Temperatures well above average over the past couple of days and will remain at least slightly above average early next week. There are signs of chillier temperatures returning to the area later next week. Precipitation-wise, with the mild temperatures are expecting rain today and part of tonight which could amount to 0.50 inch to 0.75 inch by the time the rain ends early on Sunday.
