A landscaper was killed Thursday morning after being run over by an unoccupied landscaping truck in Blauvelt, according to Orangetown police.

The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. on Bradley Parkway. Police said the victim was a man believed to be about 67 years old.

Authorities are still working to determine why and how the truck rolled away on its own.

Investigators were seen examining a Pro Cut Landscaping and Construction vehicle at the end of a driveway at 833 Bradley Parkway. Police say the man worked for the company.

State police were also on scene assisting with the investigation into the truck.

The quiet residential street remained closed for several hours as investigators worked to gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.

A representative of the landscaping business declined to comment.
