Several Westchester organizations came together Sunday to help a high school in Puerto Rico.
Marian Petrie helped organize the sold-out bootcamp fundraiser at Rye Health and Fitness.
The money will benefit Juana Colon High School, located in a small mountain community in Puerto Rico.
Petrie, who moved from Puerto Rico 14 years ago, knows the high school principal who says they lost everything in Hurricane Maria.
Petrie connected with Grace Santana with Move 2 Empower - together they have raised more than $80,000 for the high school in five weeks.
"Most of these kids are under the poverty level and many of them are special needs students," Santana says.
Petrie and Santana will be traveling to Puerto Rico to deliver classroom tables, chairs and supplies in December.
