Officials say a bomb threat called in to Mercy College Tuesday forced the evacuation of all four campuses.
The call reportedly originated at the Yorktown campus. News 12 is told that the threat was found to be unsubstantiated.
News 12 received an alert that all four campuses were evacuating due to the threat at 4:20 p.m. All evening classes and activities were canceled for the remainder of the day.
"They searched every corner of the campus, all the buildings, the dorms, everything," said Mercy College spokesperson Catherine Cioffi. "We found no threat and campuses are safe."
Mercy College posted an updated message on its website around 7 p.m. that said students could return to campus and that classes would resume as usual Wednesday.
