Authorities say the body of a 12-year-old Rockland County boy has been recovered about a mile from where his family was vacationing in North Carolina.
Police say Chance William Cosgrove, whose family lives in Pearl River, had gone boogie-boarding with his father and uncle when he was swept out to sea.
The Coast Guard searched miles and miles of ocean looking for the boy, but never found him. His body was discovered Tuesday morning by a person walking on the beach.
