Police say the body of a man who jumped to his death from the Tappan Zee Bridge after being involved in a two-car crash Friday has been recovered from waters near an Irvington boat club.

The victim?s stepfather says his stepson, 26-year-old Dominick Bifolco, had been depressed over a break up with his girlfriend. Bifolco had been drinking with friends the night he made a sudden u-turn on the Tappan Zee Bridge and began driving on the wrong side of the road, his stepfather said.

Police say Bifolco rear-ended a delivery truck and complained of leg injuries and nausea. While awaiting an ambulance, he walked to the bridge?s railing and plunged to his death.

Investigators say they have no doubt that Bifolco was attempting to kill himself. His body was found Sunday close to an Irvington boat club.
