Officials on Long Island say one person is dead after a boat exploded at a gas dock marina on Manhasset Bay Wednesday afternoon.
Detectives say two male occupants, along with two male dock workers, were fueling a 33-foot Carver motor boat when an explosion occurred, setting the boat and dock on fire.
One occupant was thrown into the water by the blast, and died as a result of his injuries.
A third male dock employee at the marina managed to push the boat away from the dock while suffering burns to his arms and face. He was transported to a hospital and listed in stable condition.
Detectives say the boat then drifted to a nearby dock, setting it on fire and damaging two additional boats.
Officials say an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
