A new Black-owned comic book store is bringing together the Mount Vernon community, and not just with comic books.
Mrz Hulk 4 Life opened in June and has already made a name for itself thanks to the work of its owner, Kaleelah Brown.
While Brown has thousands of comic books for sale, she is also making the store a meeting place and a recreational area for the community.
She also plans to offer free gaming on classic arcade machines, including gaming competitions.
She is also setting up music and art lessons.
Brown says she was lucky when she was younger because of youth programs that kept her occupied, inspired, and out of trouble.
