The Yonkers Public Library is now home to a collection of never-before-seen photos by renowned photographer Azim Thomas, documenting the lives of prominent Black figures including Michael Jackson and Rev. Al Sharpton.
For decades, Thomas has been capturing and preserving the stories of people in Black communities across New York City, showcasing their resilience, struggles, and triumphs.
His photos provide a powerful glimpse into the lives of individuals who have shaped the city's history.
The library's archival program will now permanently house these invaluable photographs, ensuring their preservation for future generations.
