Not all bargain hunters left their homes on Black Friday, according to a recent report by Adobe Analytics.
The site, which analyzes visits to retail websites, said late Thursday that Thanksgiving would likely reach a record $3.7 billion in online retail sales, up 29 percent from the same period one year ago.
As of 5 p.m. Thursday, shoppers had already spent $1.75 billion online.
But some shoppers haven’t given up on the tradition of heading to stores.
News 12 Westchester spoke to shoppers at the Westchester Mall in White Plains who prefer the in-store shopping experience as opposed to online.
"It’s just fun to get out with the family,” said one shopper. “It’s hard to be together during the week with work and everything, so we do it to be together.”
Many retailers also offer incentives to bring shoppers to their physical location on Black Friday because they view foot traffic as an opportunity for future sales.
One retailer says they are even giving away free cookies and offering holiday express parking.
