HEADLINES:
Cold has taken back over, with winds gusting around 30 mph. These conditions will continue until Friday, with some of the more intense cold and higher wind gusts expected on Wednesday.
Thursday remains cold and breezy, but winds will weaken Thursday evening into Friday with improving conditions.
There is another pattern shift that will introduce seasonable temperatures on Friday, and slightly milder temperatures on Saturday and Sunday that will keep temperatures around 40 degrees.
Concerning the weekend, there is a possibility for two storm systems to impact the region. One for Saturday afternoon that will bring mainly rain with areas in Ulster or Dutchess Counties possibly seeing a mixture of rain and snow overnight into Sunday.
Be prepared for wet weather, rain or possibly snow, to occur on Sunday night into Monday morning. There is a trend that the system will stay well south which would keep Sunday and Monday mainly dry.
However, even if we are dry, there is a mass of cold air that will impact the area Monday night through Thursday that will provide the coldest air so far this season. Daytime highs being just near 20 degrees, if not in the upper teens, with overnight lows being near zero degrees.
