A majority of bishops in the United States say it is OK to eat meat on St. Patrick's Day, as it is happening during Lent and the holiday lands on a Friday this year.
In the Catholic faith, eating meat is generally not allowed on Fridays during lent.
The National Catholic Survey says more than 70% of bishops are granting an exception for this Friday.
