Police say a bicyclist, riding in the Gran Fondo Bicycle Race, was struck by a deer near Tomkins Cove on Sunday.
Caroline Lepage was going northbound on 9-W near Bouldberberg Road when a deer hit her on her left side.
Authorities heard about the incident from a witness, and found the 28-year-old woman from Quebec in a semi-conscious state.
She was treated on the scene for a possible broken left arm and left leg and transported to Westchester Medical Center for a possible head injury.
The Gran Fondo Bicycle Race is a 100-mile course from the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee to Bear Mountain and back.
Earlier in the day, South Nyack police officer Mark Acker, 59, was injured when the motorcycle he was riding crashed on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Alpine. Acker was on his way to help with the race.
