Police say a Bedford teenager accused of DWI in a weekend crash that injured his passenger is also responsible for a fatal accident just six weeks ago.
Police believe 18-year-old Ralph Tarchine may have been driving under the influence in both accidents. On Saturday, police say Tarchine was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control and slammed into a utility pole. Police say Tarchine was also behind the wheel on December 10 when an accident claimed the life of 17-year-old Michael Plunkett. Plunkett was the son of News 12 financial correspondent Bob Plunkett.
Toxicology reports show drugs may have been involved in the earlier accident. The results of the tests took six weeks, so police couldn?t file any charges against Tarchine for the December crash.
