News 12 reported Wednesday that Bed Bath and Beyond will be closing in Mount Vernon. The company on Thursday released 50 more stores that will close by the end of the year.

The Middletown store is one of five from New York on the list scheduled to be closed.
The company says it is closing these stores because they are considered "lower producing."
A total of 20% of its workforce will lose jobs.
