6ds agoRockland County officials are warning residents about a bear on the loose in Spring Valley.
State environmental officials say the bear was found in a tree on Bethune Boulevard earlier today but has since escaped and is now on the run.
Local police are assisting in the search for the animal. Residents are urged to report any sightings to the Spring Valley Police Department.
The Department of Environmental Conservation recommends that people avoid approaching the bear and call the police immediately if they spot it.
