Happy Valley Arcade Bar opens shop in Beacon features dozens of throwback games from the 1970s to the late 1990s.
Owners Johnny Coughlin and his wife, Alyssa Follensbee, opened the establishment a few weeks ago.
The bar offers 16 types of beer on draft, themed cocktails and tasty appetizers.
With the pandemic ongoing, the business is equipped with barriers and HEPA air filtration systems. Staff also disinfects the machines. All staff members are vaccinated, and there is an outdoor patio space to enjoy.
Coughlin and Follensbe say the name derived from how they’d expect the place to feel. “We named it Happy Valley because we wanted it to be a really happy place,” says the couple. “A kind of place anyone could go and escape.”
The owners tell News 12 kids of all ages have visited the establishment to play their games while socially distanced.
Happy Valley Arcade Bar is open Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., with a 21 and older exclusive setup after 9 p.m.
