In the evening where the rain has picked up. And so are those winds? But what is it going to look like waking up in the morning? Well, I mentioned that snow, right? It is going to change over briefly north and west, but will it stick? That is the issue. Uh, looks like it's going to be a little too warm for that. But you may see some of that snow in parts of Sussex County over into Warren and northern Morris and maybe even trying to sneak down towards interstate 78. But snow lovers don't get your hopes up. This is a mainly rain event for us and it's really the high gear right now. So the winds have picked up gusts now over the next few hours, 40 to 50 miles an hour. So it is nasty. It is messy outside. The rainfall rates are 1 to 2 inches an hour. We need to watch for flooding and of course, wet roadways by the time we get to the morning though, this will start to taper roads are going to be wet though and temperatures will be cooler for these are making a comeback. Temperatures are falling overnight into the morning and the 40 stick around through next week. For local matters. I'm Phil Tit. Now we are on storm watch. I'm here with Storm March team, meteorologist, hope oil. I mean, I hope this rain has really been giving everyone a run for their money. But the temperatures also, we're going to see a dip dip there. Yeah, a 20 degree drop in temperatures. So it's just something that we all really need to prepare for. So we are starting our evening with temperatures in the upper fifties, low sixties. This is what it's gonna look like around 11 pm, mild gusty storms and then by five o'clock tomorrow morning, 43 degrees, even though that the rain is coming to an end during the second half of your morning commute. A chilly gusty wind. It is going to make it feel even colder out there throughout the day on our Monday. Now, we have that flash flood risk, a slight risk. So scattered flash flooding is possible over parts of our area, we've already seen at least a quarter to half an inch of rain reported over parts of our area. But again, the brunt of the storm will start pushing into our area around dinner time. 8:09 p.m. It's gonna be a mess to be outside. So if you can avoid hitting on the roads, that is gonna be a good idea. So this is around 8 p.m. It's still mild temperatures, upper fifties, low sixties and we're seeing some steady and even even heavy rainfall even through the overnight and taking us into your Monday morning. 5:06 a.m. The steadiest rain is still going to be with us. Lighter showers closer to 7:08 a.m. But look at those temperatures, upper thirties, low for that cold gusty wind. It is going to allow feel like temperatures to be in the mid to upper 30. So that's something that we need to prepare for. Now, even from Monday night after the storm moves out of here, the the skies will clear and temperatures will be falling to the mid thirties, but we'll be waking up to feel like temperatures in the twenties. So that is something that we need to prepare for for Tuesday morning and look at those temperatures in the low to mid 40 through the majority of the week. And then we start to rebound just in time for the week.

We are of course on storm watch for this storm right now bearing down on Westchester and the Hudson Valley meteorologist Julian C Wright is here. So Julian, a lot of people that we heard from in Emily's story concern about their Monday morning commute. Absolutely. And they should be because we are going to be expecting this rain just to continue to be heavy throughout the next several hours. But even though a weekend, we are still going to be dealing with rain by the time we wake up for tomorrow morning as well, which is going to continue that flood issue for us. We're getting into what we have for our flood advisor. Just a reminder this watch is going to be in effect. We don't have a flood advisory, but we have a flood watch in effect until we get into about 1 p.m. for our Monday. Until then we're gonna be dealing with periods of heavy rainfall, consistent rain as well. But behind the rain, we're also gonna be monitoring those winds as of right now. Just a few areas have been hitting into gusting winds that are really clocking into the 30 to about 37 MPH range as for Poughkeepsie and over towards White Plains, but we are still seeing many areas towards the eastern side after getting hit with those stronger winds as we continue throughout the overnight. So a quick look at just exactly what we're gonna be expecting from tonight into our Monday morning. We're gonna be looking at street flooding to be possible because of the heavy rainfall and those high rainfall rates per hour, which could be between a half to three quarters of an inch of rainfall, which again could be leading to flooding for many of us. 1 to 2 inches of rain is gonna be likely for us across the lower Hudson Valley. But then again, behind it is going to be the windy conditions, isolated. Power outages are going to be possible as gusts can be from 30 to 40 MPH and we could see potentially some old trees being down because of those strong winds. So here's what we got going on for our radars right now, still monitoring some heavier downpours, especially across much of Dutchess in Ulster County and even for Putnam and going into Rockland, Westchester and even for Orange County. So pretty much everywhere is starting to see a bit of that heavier rainfall, which we're starting to see those totals even picking up a bit more as well, especially towards southern parts of Orange County, almost an inch and a half of rainfall. So really over the last two hours, we've almost seen a little bit more than the half of an inch of rain that has fallen for us. And just about two hours it goes to show you just how hard or heavy that rain has been over the last while. But again, once we get into the rest of tonight's, we're looking for our heaviest band of rain to be within the next couple of hours past midnight, the rain will start to phase out but some periods of heavy rain mainly to the east is gonna be possible right behind it. I'm gonna be seeing a cold front. That's right on your screen. We will be seeing a bit of a wintry mix, potentially even some snow flakes for some areas, especially north of Westchester and for Rockland counties. Now, it's not looking to accumulate much in terms of snow, but rain accumulations could still be about an inch close to two inches. Once everything's all said and done in regards to wind speeds, it's not just tonight, but heading into Monday afternoon, we're still gonna be dealing with some gusty winds and breezy conditions throughout our Monday. So it's not gonna fully improve, but at least it's not gonna be heavy rainfall for our Monday afternoon. Once we're done with Monday, smooth sailing with cold and sunny conditions.

Long Island

And another storm watch update that we have going on for us just a reminder. So we have a flood watch in effect through one pm Monday for all of Long Island and on top of it, we have a high wind warning in effect for Suffolk County until we get into about 11 a.m. for Monday. Now, we could be seeing wind gusts between 45 to 55 MPH, but some areas we can't even rule out reaching 60 MPH as in gusts as we get into the overnight. And for our early Monday morning, we are expecting wind speeds to be sustained between 25 to 35 MPH and just take a look at how things are as of right now, along much of the South shore, we are already starting to see some pretty strong winds around 33 MPH. Gusts for Oceanside, Farmingdale Islip and Shirley are still sustaining about 26 MPH winds and we are expecting those to strengthen as we get into the rest of tonight. But again, here's the storm system that's just really just been stalled out throughout much of the east coast continuing to pump in not only rain but strong winds across Long Island. Now, the good news is as of right now, we're not dealing with much in regards to rain, especially for the eastern side of what we have on Long Island, but we are expecting the rain to continue to build as we get into the next several hours. Especially once we get around 10 o'clock, we're looking for a bit more of that rain to not only just be lights but heavy rainfall from Glen Cove to Huntington and even for Hempstead. Now, from Nassau County over towards the western side of Suffolk County, we're looking at this to be a slow moving band of heavy rainfall that will continue to stretch its way across Long Island, which is why our concerns for flooding are mainly going to be overnight and into a very early Monday morning, which could again impact your Monday morning commute because we are gonna still see some heavy and even consistent rainfall throughout our early m Monday morning around sunrise. And even around seven o'clock, we're still dealing with a bit of some rain as well, but you could take notes that it's not only it's gonna be wet, but it also will be colder as temperatures will drop into the forties by sunrise. Now, gusting winds again, near 60 MPH are possible along the South shore and southern parts of Long Island and tomorrow though it's not gonna be 60 MPH. We're still gonna be dealing with strong winds and here's how much rain we could potentially see again. Close to three inches of rainfall is left for many areas, especially over towards Suffolk County. Once we're done with the rain colder for the week.

And we're taking another look at the forecast. Morning, temperatures are going to be warm, but temps will fall throughout the day and there's still rain out there for that morning commute. So there could be a couple of issues on the roads plan accordingly. Travel could be a little disrupted by that rain. Now, there will be some snow falling mainly north, but that's going to be very brief and it doesn't look like we'll see much of an accumulation, but either way it's going to be damp out for the morning commute, the afternoon will be and colder. So make sure you have something waterproof for the morning, grab a rain jacket, don't wear the good shoes tomorrow, it's going to be very wet out, but later it up underneath because temperatures will be colder. S ra are still looking pretty messy across the area. And like I mentioned in terms of snow, there's not going to be very much but just parts of northern Litchfield County and as you go up in elevation, so this upcoming week as a whole is going to be a lot drier than what we're seeing right now. And those temperatures are in the forties.

be Well: Save money without sacrificing back-to-school style

Today, we're trying to save money without sacrificing style, making the most of our back to school budgets. Our friends at H and M gave us some really cool looks for fall. And the great thing is these pieces are all under $40. So we want to start with Shannon's son Carter who is in the second grade. And what's so great about this is not only how much he seems to be into this style like he's, he's got like a little dance move going on, but the entire set $35 for the top and bottom. Yeah, that's great. And you can really mix and match them with different things if you don't wanna wear that whole outfit all the time, right? Because that sweatshirt would go great with jeans and you know, put anything on the top of those beige pants, it's really good. So you can really mix and match that like them because they're very comfortable to move around for kids too. That's the thing you go out on the playground recess, you wanna be comfortable and you also wanna look at at the same time. All right, let's take a look at mckenzie. She is up next. And what was really great about these pants is that they're so comfortable as well. These parachute pants are back having a moment. I know it was like MC Hammer. I thought going like that and I was like, trying to teach her about MC while she was wearing it, but she thought they were super cool and comfortable and they let her breathe, you know, a lot of space. Right. And then, and right now, obviously we have this great ribbed gray shirt, but it can go with a variety of different looks, change it up, sweatshirts and layer, you know, all types of looks on the top, so they're comfortable and, you know, really great. All right up next. Let's take a look at some of our middle schoolers up versus Madison and this is amazing. So, yes, beautiful dress on Madison right there. It's only 12 99. We need one in every color, right? Because you figure, ok, she's got this really cute, um, you know, jacket over it, the jacket's only 30 bucks, but you figure the jacket could be paired with jeans or anything and the same thing, this dress, you know, you could put a little cardigan over it. If you're chilly or a denim jacket, it could really have a lot of different looks to it. Yeah, I like how it was so versatile and she felt so cool and it's New York so you can't go wrong there. Exactly. Alright, let's take a look at my son Timothy and Tim is wearing sweatpants, but the difference with these is it has that little bit of color block which just makes it a little more elevated, just a simple uh white tea underneath a zip up sweatshirt. The hoodie is only 20 bucks, obviously. Again, it's one of those things you just easily throw in the car. So if the weather changes, it's a little cooler. But if not you tie it around your waist or give it to mom to hold because that's kind of how that goes. Yeah. And again, it's comfortable, it's athletic, they can move and improve in it. And again, black goes with anything so you can mix and match it. Right. All right, let's take a look at our high schoolers first off. We have Laney and it's interesting because Blazers are really making this comeback and even for, you know, kids in high school, the look really has just this polished finished look to it. So the Blazer could be dressed, you know, down here, you see it with the high waisted jeans, which again are lovely. And then she has like a really, you know, cute crop top underneath it because, you know, she is in high school. So, you know, she doesn't want to feel sloppy, have a lot of bulky things, but I think she looks great. Yeah. And the kids are loving those big baggy outfits. Now we're gonna take a look at Mike and Mike is making me think all the retro feels right here. He has, you know, this flannel shirt, it's about 25 bucks. Obviously, you can wear it, you know, all throughout the season. And he also has that jacket there and he really loved that jacket. It was, you know, it was great lightweight, waterproof. And on the jean side there he is putting the jacket on, on the jean side. These look like joggers, you know, but obviously they're denim but they had that, you know, really comfortable waist band as well. So you just pull them on, pull them off, but they look more like that jean but have the comfort of like a jogger. Yeah. And these days we don't know what the weather is doing so that jacket is perfect and I love the color nice and bright, especially when you're walking to school. You wanna make sure they're able to be seen, right? So you look at how good your kids look like there. Shannon and the kids love that book bag too by the Oh, yeah. And you know, I thought it was amazing how much stuff you were able to do. Yeah, because you figure between after school and all the kind of extra curricular that they have. Yeah, it was really great. They look lovely. They look like they're having fun and we appreciate all the kids giving us their time and their style and uh really show us how great those back to school looks. And of course, our thanks to our friends over at H and M for finding such nice looking affordable looks because we don't have to break the bank to send our kids to school. And that's the most important thing for me as a parent, I don't wanna break the bank and they're happy because they're styling. So.
