Winter. You know me, I love snow. I'm a big fan of the snow. I'm a big fan of the cold. I know everybody out there follows my social media knows where I stand when it comes to the, or, or, or the pumpkin spice lattes. Uh Yeah, not so much. Let's see where the four listen, we've got a few more days of colder temperatures. Ok. We start to see a little bit of a recovery once we get towards Friday. But you know, tonight, tomorrow going into uh Thursday, we're still dealing with temperatures that are below average and we are still going to be looking for wind chills that will make it feel a lot chillier out there at present. Most of New Jersey dealing with mainly clear skies. However, I can't rule out the opportunity for a, I'd say an early evening flurry as those gusty winds continue to push some of those snow streamers in our direction. There's a possibility we might be looking at a snowflake here or there up until about, let's say sunset and then we're going to look for a mainly clear sky. Tonight, temperatures are dropping down again into the lower twenties that wind at 15 miles an hour making it feel about 10 degrees cooler. Some wind chills, especially north and west might actually wind up at around 11 or 12. We'll see how that all plays out. Wednesday's forecast again. Mainly sunny skies. I think we're probably going to be looking at a few more afternoon clouds developing as those gusty north westerly winds continue to try to drive in some instability to the area. It's cold aloft, it's cold at the surface. The sunshine is going to try to create some cloud coverage as we go through the day. But again, daytime, high temperatures not getting above or not getting to 40 degrees. So that cold air is going to continue to pivot through the Great Lakes in the northeast. We're watching that cold air drop all way down. Even in North Florida, we're looking at a few scattered snow squalls still kind of moving across western sections of Morris County. There's no accumulations. We see the flurries come and go as I like to call them festive flakes getting in the mood for the holidays, waking up tomorrow morning, it is clear, it is quieter but still breezy, we'll have wind chills, that'll make it feel cooler. We see some late day clouds showing up daytime, high temperatures again stuck in the mid thirties and then rolling through the next couple of days from Thursday into Friday, the winds change direction becoming more south westerly. So that's going to bring in more of a Carolina air mass which actually tries to warm us back up. Come Thursday afternoon. Now we're back to normal in the mid to upper forties looking for lower fifties to get us into the upcoming weekend. We're also keeping an eye on Friday going into Saturday. There's a system that's going to be moving in out of the Ohio Valley that will bring some rain showers. Probably late Friday going in a very early Saturday morning as our temperatures stay in the upper forties. I'll have more details on that forecast coming right up.

All right. Well, let's check back in now. We are dealing with this bitter blast still. We're checking in with teen meteorologist Scott Skoff. Now, Scott, you said today is not the end of these cold temperatures. I know it's the holiday season so I need to just get used to it. But man, yeah, there's a song that comes to mind. Follow la la la, la, la la oy because that's what we're looking at with colder temperatures. Even on the way into tomorrow, we're gonna be seeing these feels like temps staying in the twenties. But as we go to the end of the week, things are gonna be warmer but it comes with a catch rain is on the way, but those feels like temps can be the twenties all day long. So bundle up, keep yourself warm layer, have your jacket, your gloves, your scarf or hand warmers, reduce your time outside even with your furry friends too. Because as we go into the rest of the day today, we are going to be seeing these temperatures drop into the teens. That's what it's going to feel like for the start of your hump day tomorrow. So definitely even colder air ahead of us as we are looking at. Yes, a little bit of, I say it's snow. These have produced snow squall warnings over in northeast Pennsylvania and northwestern New Jersey. These snow showers are continuing to push on in towards us here in the city and you could even see those snow bands look to the north and west. This is a view from Kingsbridge and the Bronx. You can see those snow bands moving towards the city. So definitely the possibility is there towards the afternoon. I'm thinking between two and six o'clock in the afternoon, it's going to be some festive flakes, nothing accumulating but still be pretty to look at. Make sure to use the hashtag and 12 Storm Watchers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and even post them to the news 12 app for the latest. And if you want to send your pictures in because it is going to be beautiful and by 67 o'clock should be done, we are going to be seeing that cold air come on and going to be in the twenties by the morning will feel like the teens and with that wind, that's going to be the big driving factor behind it. 20 to 30 mile per hour gusts through the rest of the day today and that will be lingering into tomorrow as well. So it's gonna be cold, it's going to be windy. It's gonna feel like the twenties even though the high temperature around 40 degrees with those blustery brisk winds gusts up to 30 MPH twenties overnight. But we feel like the teens because that breezy wind and all that cold air, the good news is we are going to be seeing that feels like temp go way up Thursday into the forties. So that's light at the end of the tunnel and then Friday fifties with the chance of rain. Same story, Sunday, Monday with milder temperatures as we enter the month of December on Friday.

And as you're out driving on the local roadways, we know it is going to be cold Christy. When do you think the temperatures are going to warm up just a little bit? I mean, as we enter into a weekend, they pick up, but that comes with some rain, unfortunately, but we see that our radar over the past six hours is showing some flurries really over across the area. But that is going to be continuing through today and tomorrow, really mostly northwestern New York and Pennsylvania are seeing the snow, but we can't rule out flurries throughout the day today as well as to tomorrow. We see it coming across and that comes with some bitterly cold temperatures across the area. And this is our, feels like versus our regular temperatures, regular temperatures on the left over here in our blue cold feels like temperatures. So what you need to know is these frigid temperatures continue. This is later in our evening tonight, around dinner time, we're seeing temperatures in the upper twenties and low thirties, but feeling like they're in the twenties, 22 in Newburgh and Poughkeepsie. And that is going to drop even more. As we head into our overnight hours, this is 1045 starting to get into the teens in some spots. Brewster seeing 17 and it's gonna be even colder for tomorrow. So you're gonna wanna keep that in mind for your commute tomorrow morning. This is 6 a.m. feeling like 16 out there. So definitely bundle up and be prepared if you're heading when you're heading out the door. And then by your afternoon, those temperatures still stay pretty cold with some wind gusts of around 20 miles an hour. And we can't rule out some accumulation really northwestern Ulster County, seeing between one and three inches, really not much and flurries passing throughout the rest of the day and we see some rain chances pick up for Friday. But with that, our temperatures are also on the rise thankfully and it's really a turnaround from today. Don't be fooled by this temperature. It's feeling like the twenties out there frigid and then a really big switch into Friday. Our temperatures jump up and some rain can return for your weekend. Let's take a look at your 10 day forecast. Now, we've got a frigid and cold Wednesday for you with some gust winds and temperatures are on the rise into the weekend with some chance for rain for your Friday and we're back to seasonable temperatures through next week.

Then we'd like warmer weather. Now, Sam is gonna try and deliver that makes me happy because I'm a summer girl. This is like it's not around the corner. Sam. You know, we have a long way to go. Um Our weather's been nice though. What an interesting sky today. Some sun, some flurries and this is beautiful. Uh Jim Lenning our very own, Jim Lenning got this photo when he was out today in Bellport. So along the south shore, we had a beautiful sky, some of those scattered cumulus clouds in the distance that brought in some of those flurries. If you happen to see them today, it was a windy day. It was a cold day. We've got a cold Wednesday morning coming up for you at the bus stop. Temperatures will be in the twenties. It is going to feel more like 15 degrees. So just bundle up have the layers on the afternoon, not so bad, 40 degrees, the breeze will start to die down. So by tomorrow night, there's not much of a wind left. Uh one more cold day coming up, we have these lake effect snow showers to our north and west where it's been snowing all day long. That's why we had some flurries, but as the winds die down in the coming days, um, those snow showers will be winding down as well. Back at home here, mostly clear in the morning. You see the twenties, cold start to the day. It is breezy in the afternoon, but the wind is switching to the west southwest and that will start to bring in the warmer air. So by Thursday morning, we're in the thirties, not so bad, less wind. And in the afternoon, look at this, we get that little bit of a warm up. So that will be my pick of the week. Forties with lots of sun will feel great after this little cold spell that we're seeing, our weather starts to change on Friday. It does turn mild. We're in the fifties. This is Friday late afternoon into the evening. That's our next chance for rain. It'll be fast moving. By Saturday morning, the rain clears out dry, start to the weekend, but our weather is turning a little bit unsettled. So by Sunday night showers return, we have some showers Monday, Tuesday, mild weather and then it will get breezy and colder by the middle of next week with temps.

City. All right, let's bring hope back for another check of that hyper local forecast and the bitter blast. We're all feeling it's been a while since we've seen temperatures really this low hope and, you know, we know about the gloves and the hat and the scarf, but there's some other tips we need to probably remember. Yeah, definitely. You know, these cold temperatures are going to take us through at least tomorrow and then things start to turn around by the end of the week. But in the meantime, try to limit your time outdoors if you can. Again, the coldest time of day is during the morning hours. So if you have to go outside, just dress in layers, bundle up. And also if you are taking your car, try to warm it up ahead of time so that you're not getting into a cold vehicle and just be aware that you can also winterize your home, getting your home ready for the winter season by making sure that everything is insulated correctly. Check on your check on the elderly and the pets as they are susceptible to hypothermia and very cold temperatures that we are experiencing right now, over the next couple of hours still stuck in the thirties overnight, it gets even colder, feeling like the teens waking up tomorrow morning. So even though that's a thermometer is going to be 28 it's gonna feel like the teens 15 to 20 degrees out there over portions of the borough and even the city, the blustery winds is what's making it feel even colder tomorrow afternoon won't feel as harsh temperatures in upper thirties, near 40 degrees, a blend of sun and clouds but still cold and breezy throughout the day. Tomorrow, we're going to see the sunshine. Some clouds begin to filter in late but still going remain dry. Thursday. Your best bet to really go outside. Enjoy the sunshine and the slightly milder temperatures we're welcoming back the forties. So that's something that you can look forward to a little bit milder on our Friday. But this time it comes with some rain. So it looks like the best chance to start seeing some wet weather move into our area will be Friday afternoon, even lingering into Friday evening. Saturday does start off dry, but it looks like we're ending the weekend with some wet weather even continuing into early next week.

Michelle Powers is here with more on what we can expect. So how cold will it get Michelle? All right. Well, tonight, we're talking about temperatures in the twenties, but it's the wind chills that will be in the teens. Waking up tomorrow morning. We're taking a look here at our futurecast by five and 6 a.m. This will be the worst of it. But good news is, this is very temporary. Tomorrow is another cold day. So as we go throughout the afternoon, temperatures will barely warm. Today, we had 40 tomorrow. I don't think we'll even come close to 40 temperatures staying in the thirties but feels like the twenties. That's what those blue numbers represent right now. Let's take a look outside. It's, it's quiet. It's gorgeous tonight in Norwalk, it's 34 degrees already and 34 feels like 22. So that's the catch we're going to see this again for tomorrow. But then temperatures turn around later in the week. We have had some festive flakes today. Take a look at this picture from Gene in Watertown of some snow that fell like snow, but still snow and nonetheless, and it just added to that winter feel. So temperatures feeling like the twenties everywhere right now and the festive flakes they're going away for now, but they could start to come back tomorrow. be Well: Back-to-school shopping and the latest trends  

It's almost time to retire our bathing suits and board shorts for the summer. But that means we get a whole new fresh set of clothing. That's why all those good looks for Fall. So when it comes to back to school shopping, we want to check out the latest trend. So our friends at H and M gave us some cool looks for Fall that their style experts say this year, it's all about fashion forward pieces that can be mixed and match. So we're gonna start with the elementary students and Carter who is in the second grade. I love it because you could just tell he's got this great energy here. But right now we're taking a look at his pants. Obviously, they're like these brown pants and we paired them uh with this button down shirt that has stripes. But I think you could tell by the smile on his face that he is loving on this jacket and the jacket is so great. It's a bomber style jacket. Um and it's, it's really just so cool. How did he like this outfit? Let me tell you he thought he was too cool for school. He loved this. My guy was just posing and modeling. He was really filling his jacket because it had the little football helmet on it and he was like, I can wear it when it gets cold because it's a little warm right now. He's all for it. Yeah, I love that. That's a great piece. Ok. We're gonna take a look at mckenzie and mckenzie is in the fifth grade. She's got the wide leg joggers on. So those are really on trend, not only because of the monochromatic look. So the top and the bottom really match each other. The Dusty Rose is kind of having a moment, but the good thing is you can mix and match those. So the top could go with like a black pair of, you know, a high waisted legging or the bottom could go with one of those big oversized sweatshirts. So there's a lot of different looks. You can get this one. You see that on the side of the leg too. Exactly. You know, this is cool. She liked it, but I was like, don't show the stomach. Same with Madison here. I was like no stomach. Yeah. And I love this on Madison and because um well, one because she looks lovely, but also there's like these great little details like the smiley face on, on the skirt. But then that also goes with the smile all day on her sweatshirt, but it's not overly colorful because she's a little bit older. She's middle school. So this can be dressed up or dressed down, depending if you want a pair of the skirt and there's Timothy. And, you know, I have to tell you he loved these jeans, this loose fit. He didn't have a pair of loose fit and he really, really liked them. So you could see it's like wider on the bottom, not like that skinny jean anymore. And it's just like a nice clean look. They did fit the waist. They had that inside. That makes it a little bit tighter because he's got a slim waist. So it is adjustable, which is great. And then this zip up is the fleece and that he also really loved. You could tell he's got a great smile on because it's comfy, great for the seasons changing and stack it and take it off. Yes. Now this one, it's interesting because Laney is wearing this really oversized, um, jacket and the good thing is, yes, she looks adorable, but also you could put a sweatshirt under it, get the hood outside of the jacket and have a completely different look if you were going out with your friends or having, you know, something like that. This one is a gray cargo pant, lots of pockets really loose, very comfortable. And all the kids love this oversized jacket thing and you can really something fitted underneath. Yeah, this is Mike and Mike is showing us the beige is anything but basic and you're kind of comparing all the different beiges together. He's got the hat, he's feeling cool. Lots of pockets in the cargo pants. You know, it's classy but it's versatile because you could really dress it up at. You have something important like the Picture Day at school or somewhere to go. But it's also comfortable and casual. The funny thing is there's two shirts with this, there's like a white button down underneath it. And Mike was kind of like, I never wore two shirts together, but he seemed to like it. Wait, here you go. There's the Mike pose and like he was like, hm I'm thinking about getting this one. I like it and that pulls it all together. The kids were just loving it up, loving and profiling, especially for the elementary kids. They have so much versatility with his outfit. I know I really liked it. So we do want to thank our friends over at H and M for giving our kids so many great looks to try out as we get into the style for this back to school season. Those are your high schoolers right there. And uh we're gonna have more of this coming up. We're gonna have uh also for you uh different styles that are under, I believe it's $40. So we also wanna have the budget in there as well. And H and M was able to do that for us. We love that they won't break the bank. Yeah.
