NYPD officers from the 47th Precinct took on students in some games of chess at Baychester Middle School.

The event was put together by Young Kings and Queens Chess Club. The founder, Romeo Davis, says the club is all about bringing unity within the community, giving students a chance to play against other students, teachers, parents and even their local law enforcement.

Davis has run this program alongside the city’s Department of Education for eight years, giving over 2,000 students a chance to learn the game.
