The vehicles' batteries need to be replaced after 15 reports of car fires.
The fires took place outside of the U.S., and no one was hurt.
Replacing an entire battery on an electric car is an extreme measure. It requires a similar amount of work and expense as replacing an entire engine of a traditional gasoline-powered car.
