Barstool Sports is once again helping a Hudson Valley business struggling to stay open during the pandemic.
Dave Portnoy stopped by Raceway Pizza in Yonkers recently to do a pizza review, but wound up talking to owner Luigi Petrozza.
Petrozza told him how he has been in business 50 years, but with the loss of his mom a couple months ago and the pandemic, he is behind on his rent and power bills.
"I lost my mom a few months ago. She was my partner here for 50 years….I'm having a struggle right now because I close up every night early. There's not too many people around. And, uh, I tell ya, I just feel right now. I just feel very, very blessed right now. "
Portnoy was so moved by Petrozza’s story, he promised to pay his overdue bills through the Barstool Fund.
The fund has raised nearly $37.5 million, and has helped 332 businesses nationwide, including numerous establishments in the Hudson Valley.
