Police are negotiating with a barricaded man following what authorities say was a domestic incident between a father and son on Airport Road Thursday morning.

Warwick Police Chief John Rader told News 12 the incident began around 7:20 a.m. The father called police for help at about 9:30 a.m.

Authorities say the suspect, a man in his 20s, barricaded himself inside the home after the domestic incident. Negotiators from the Warwick Police Department, the Orange County Sheriff's Office and New York State Police were working to get him to come out peacefully as of Thursday afternoon.

Police said the father was no longer inside the home and suffered minor injuries. He was evaluated at the scene.

Authorities said it was unclear whether the suspect was armed.
