A Nanuet mother is still searching for justice, 40 years after her teenage daughter was murdered in Rockland.
Forty years ago this Tuesday, Lisa Thomas, a 15-year-old high school sophomore, was murdered 700 feet away from her home.
Her mother, Barbara Thomas, says the last time she saw her daughter she was leaving the house to go to the mall to buy a blouse. She walked through the woods and was never seen alive again. Her father found her the next day, and she had been beaten to death.
Though police have investigated the case for the last 40 years, no one was ever arrested or charged.
Thomas says she wants the Clarkstown Police Department to seek outside assistance to help them find her daughter's killer so she can have closure.
