Several college baseball teams in Rockland County will have to wait to play home games at a local ball park.
Officials say the field at Provident Bank Park in Pomona was damaged by an ice rink installed by the town of Ramapo over the winter.
Grounds crews are working on repairing the damage, but officials say it won't be finished until at least the first week in April. Local colleges planned on home games at the park next week, but officials say they are now looking for another place to play. "This is the time of the year to get the field just right, so that's what we are doing. I'm pretty sure they'll be back on, in April," says Ramapo Town Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence.
The home opener for the Rockland Boulders at the Park is set for May 19.
