The Rockland mother accused of murdering her newborn baby and tossing his body into a dumpster was back in court yesterday for a pre-trial hearing.
The lawyer for Maria Guaman-Guaman says he'll introduce a "psychiatric" defense for his client.
Prosecutors say the Ecuadorian immigrant gave birth to a baby boy in November and strangled him before dumping his body into a trash bin in Spring Valley. The body of the infant, now known as "Baby Angel," was found later in a recycling center in Elmsford.
Guaman-Guaman will undergo a series of psychiatric exams before her next court date on June 11.
