A 26-year-old Monroe man faces charges for rear-ending a police car and leading officers on a chase through the village and into Goshen, authorities say.
The incident occurred Sunday at a Kings Highway red light, where the officer and K-9 were seated.
The motorcyclist allegedly struck additional police cars during the pursuit before abandoning his bike in the woods.
He was later apprehended by an Orange County sheriff's deputy on Laurel Court.
His charges include unlawfully fleeing a police officer, criminal mischief, and vehicle and traffic violations.
The defendant was released on an appearance ticket for town court.
