The attorney for the Chester official indicted in the shooting of a lost DoorDash driver says his client was trying to warn the man off his property and not harm him.
Chester Highway Superintendent John Reilly is now facing felony charges in the shooting that was caught on camera.
Reilly's lawyer says the video doesn't tell the whole story.
A statement from the attorney says in part, "Mr. Reilly's intention was not to cause harm but to warn this man off his property after he had resisted his requests to leave."
The victim's family says the driver was just trying to charge his phone because he was lost.
Local leaders have asked Reilly to resign.
