Man killed in East New York shooting

Authorities report an attempted robbery at the Wellness Center located at 1490 Route 9 in Wappingers Falls over the weekend.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when a suspect armed with a knife entered the establishment.

According to police, the suspect brandished the knife, prompting a courageous spa worker to attempt to disarm him. A struggle ensued, during which the suspect fled the scene.

The worker sustained only nonlife-threatening injuries and received treatment.
