In the face of an economic crisis, Armonk-based IBM has reported positive and growing earnings for the past three months.

Just minutes after the opening bell on Wall Street, the Dow Jones showed triple-digit gains thanks in part to IBM, which released its positive earnings a week early. IBM has now predicted an earnings report up 20%.

The positive start was much needed after the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 900 points this week and has lost 35% of its value in the past year.
