A Rockland County community is breathing a sigh of relief after a person with a gun put it on lockdown.
Suffern police say it all started when relatives of 39-year-old Timothy Murphy called police and told them he was threatening to harm himself and possibly had a weapon.
Rockland County's SWAT team was called to the scene, which was located right behind police headquarters.
Due to the possibility of guns being involved, police told Suffern residents to stay away from the area.
After several attempts to contact Murphy, SWAT officers forced their way into his apartment and took Murphy into custody.
A search of the apartment turned up a quantity of marijuana, an unlicensed hand gun and a modified AK-47.
Murphy is now facing criminal charges.
