It was a tough morning and afternoon for commuters using New Jersey Transit and Amtrak trains amid cancelations and delays, while also dealing with brutally cold temperatures.
Amtrak said several trains were canceled due to signal issues and customers should expect lengthy delays in and out of New York Penn Station, as well as along the Northeast Corridor. Several Acela trains were also canceled due to equipment unavailability.
This comes a day after service was temporarily suspended between New York and Philadelphia.
PATH trains also had issues Monday morning. A broken rail changed some routes in Hoboken and Jersey City.
Commuters were advised to look at train schedules before heading to stations.
