An Ardsley homeowner escaped harm when a man drove his car into her house Wednesday.
Police say before 4 p.m., 54-year-old Gordon Chesy, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, lost control of his vehicle. Witnesses say they heard Chesy screaming as his vehicle careened down Alamena Avenue, crashed into a vehicle and then the rear of the house on Saw Mill River Road. Bee Caporale says she was in her yard at the time of the accident. Her kitchen is now destroyed, but a building inspector says Caporale can safely live in the residence.
Chesy?s 12-year-old son, who was waiting to be picked up, says he heard the accident from a nearby lot. He says his father usually uses a scooter due to his multiple sclerosis. Authorities are investigating whether Chesy?s condition contributed to the accident. Chesy suffered minor injuries.
